Border News - 2023, Week 8

Dear Border Church Family, 

This week we are in our regular venue at the CWA Hall at 169 Griffith Street, Coolangatta (next to the Pink Hotel). Parking is available on Griffith and Boundary streets and Marine Pde. There is also parking under or next to Twin Towns if it is really busy on the street. 

A huge thank you to those who joined us last week from Ganggalah, King Jesus, Kingdom Life and Living Waters Churches, as well as representatives of Joy Network and The Gathering. A special thanks to the musicians and to Pastor Naomi for leading out in worship for us! It was a blessed time had by all. 

Border Church this week

This week we will be continuing our discipleship training at 9:30 QLD/10:30NSW. We are looking at where the theory we have explored in the previous weeks can be moved into practical territory in our lives. 

This week for our message we will be continuing our series on Prayers of Power: Unlocking Omnipotence by looking at prayer in the life of Noah. 

We always have a healthy vegetarian fellowship lunch after Church. This week we will be having an Americana street theme with vege hot-dogs, french fries and salad. We would love you to join us for this. 

News and Upcoming events 

Alina and I have now moved into our new abode and we are resuming Bible studies from next week. This week we attended a pastor's retreat and networked with ministers from all over the Gold Coast. The progress of unity is making leaps and bounds in both the Gold Coast and Tweed regions. 

Next Friday March 3 is the World Day of Prayer. There are several events you can join in with as part of this program. In the Tweed, there is a morning service at 10am NSW time at Kingscliff Anglican Church. For those wanting to go to the Southern Gold Coast event, it is going to be at Living Temple Church at Tugun and 9:30am QLD time. I will be at the Tugun event.

We will be again joining King Jesus as they have a prayer and praise meeting in the evening. 

Next Sunday afternoon, March 5 at 2:30pm QLD/3:30pm NSW, we will be having a vision team meeting to discuss the next few months. If you would like to join us for this, please pay attention to next week's newsletter for the place. 

We will be supporting the GC Churches in Easter United this year. If you would like to volunteer to help make this event a success you can register as a volunteer at the link here - https://www.eventbrite.com/e/easter-united-2023-volunteers-tickets-512709256187. 

Save the date! We will be having a special double-celebration after lunch on Saturday, April 1, 2023. This will be both a birthday celebration for Victor's 2nd birthday as well as a gender and name reveal for our "Bump". 

Regular programing

If you or anyone you know would like to start a Discovery Bible Reading group, we would be happy to equip and support you in this. We are regularly modelling how to do these during our Discipleship course. It really is very simple. Make sure you grab a bookmark off us to aid you in how to facilitate these. 

We run I AM small groups on a regular basis and if you would like help hosting one for your friends or loved ones to discover Jesus and the basics of the Bible, please let us know. 

Prayer meetings are on Wednesdays at 2:30pm QLD/3:30pm NSW at 179 Botanical Circuit, Banora Point. Please message me or speak to Lorraine if you have any prayer requests we can add to our list. You can join this prayer meeting through zoom with the link - https://us02web.zoom.us/j/81584149095. All are welcome to join as we pray for our community and upcoming projects.

If you would like to give to our building upgrade fund, please mark your offering for this purpose. We will be sharing in some of the costs of upgrading the CWA hall so that we can have some dedicated storage for Border Church as well as insulation to reduce some of the noise and echo in the hall.
